Mt Lemmon - May 21st

Join us Saturday, May 21st.  We are planning to have two start times - 7am and 10am.  The 7am start will be for riders who want to try the Mt. Lemmon Double.  and the 10am start will be for the Mt Lemmon Single.  Both will meet in the parking lot on the NE corner of Tanque Verde Rd and Catalina Highway.  We meet near the McDonald's.

The single ride is just shy of 60 miles in total.  The climbing starts at mile 5, so your legs have a chance to warm up.  Then, it is 25 miles of continuous climbing that will take you to almost 8,000 feet in elevation!

Good luck!

Saguaro Lake Century

Mexicano Del Lago
On Saturday, Feb 5th, join me for another century ride.  The ride out to Saguaro lake is gorgeous!  If you don't want to do the entire 100 miles, you can turn back at the lake and end up with a nice 60 miles.  We will start earlier than 9am - maybe 7am?

Jay has offered to drive SAG and be the official photographer for this ride - thanks Jay!  We'll have some pre-set spots where Jay will be along the route if you need water or food.

Here's the route-

Casa Grande Century

The first century of the year was a success.  We had 11 riders and we all finished - congratulations!  The day was close to perfect.  Low wind, great weather, no hills and only one flat.  Most of the excitement occurred around mile 54 when a vulcan's legs started to cramp, he then flatted, and we heard the story of Penelope!  A BBQ lunch at mile 70 sounded great, but our stomachs and legs had other opinions.  After 5 miles of burping and lead-leg, we started to feel human again and finished strong.

I hope everyone  is ready for February's self-supported century out to Saguaro Lake.  It is a gorgeous ride!

See ya!

Rides you would like to do (given the time, money, etc.) - a virtual Cycling 'Bucket List'

Thought this would be interesting for everyone to comment on - a friend sent me information on a ride that is well known (Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa) and I figured there were many more. One of these days we might be able to be like Hash Pipe (retired and fit even!) and be able to try some of these. Kindof like a Cycling 'Bucket List'.

One of my first rides is below in comments!
